Lisa Wood serves as our Pastor to Youth and Children. She attended Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where she earned her degree in Pastoral Studies.
Lisa earned her MDiv degree with emphasis in Pastoral Care at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. She facilitates online seminars in Pastoral Care and Congregational Care through the Oates Institute where she also serves as a member of the Program Committee.
Before authoring her first children's book, (Okay With Me, 2009), Lisa served as a children’s book columnist and her articles have been included in a variety of Kentucky publications and national children's ministry magazines. She has over 25 years of experience in children’s and youth ministries which includes conducting parenting and family enrichment events, facilitating spiritual formation seminars, and creating discipleship curricula for children and youth ministries.
Lisa is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and writes many of the children’s litanies and dramas performed by the children at Immanuel.
Lisa and her husband Jim have a daughter in high school and a zany yellow labrador retriever. Lisa also has three older children who live in Owensboro. She enjoys scrapbooking, trap shooting, photography, and needlework.
