Adults

As a church body, we value learning as one of the most important building blocks in our relationship with God and one another.
We seek to embrace our doubts and encourage questions so that we can grow deeper in our understanding of God and God’s calling for our congregation.
Through Sunday School, worship, and other Bible study opportunities, we challenge one another to ask questions, discuss difficult topics, and become stronger and more faithful through our learning together.

Sunday School
9:30 a.m. on Sundays
Coed II and IV
Coed II and IV meet in Fellowship Hall together and are taught by Roger Crittenden, Guthrie True, and Chuck Wolfe. This is a more “traditional” Sunday School class, which follows Smyth & Helwys’ Formations curriculum.
Participants in this class are predominantly 65 and above, but it is open to all ages. They also meet simultaneously on Zoom.
Koinonia Class
The Koinonia Class meets in Room 106, at the end of the Children’s Hallway, and is led by Zeb Martin. This is a “less traditional” Sunday School class. Utilizing written, audio, and visual sources on various topics, discussion is focused on “functional Christianity,” not just why, but how we can “express God’s unconditional love” in the world today. Participants range from their 30’s to their 80’s.

Men I
Men I is taught by Jack Black and meets in a classroom behind the sanctuary.

Additional Opportunities

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is a volunteer choir comprised of church members. Anyone who is willing to make a joyful noise to the Lord is welcome and encouraged to join.
Please contact Mac Stivers at mac@ibcfrankfort.com for more information.

Lydia Greear Baptist Mission Women
The Baptist Mission Women (BMW) group is a group of women of all ages who gather monthly for service and fellowship. Each month, they alternate between a “fun” activity and a predominantly missions focused gathering. They have explored nearby towns, made blankets for children, spent more than one evening on the patio of Casa Fiesta, and compiled care packets for unhoused people.
Women of all ages are welcome to join them any time. Please see our events calendar for more information.

XYZ Senior Adults
Our Senior Adult ministry is anchored by the XYZ (eXtra Years of Zest) Club which consists of members ages 55 and up. XYZ members enjoy day trips to various restaurants and points of interest in central Kentucky.
Members frequently participate in various mission and outreach ministries, including Immanuel’s West Point Mission, Frankfort’s Food Pantry, Lexington’s Hope Center, etc. Several members of the group regularly visit homebound friends and friends in local nursing homes.
Immanuel’s Senior Adults serve in all areas of church life including deacon ministry, Sunday Bible study, various church ministry teams, and special focus classes.

Young Adults
IBC has a growing population of young adults. Pastor Emily is coordinating gatherings for adults in their 30s, 40s, and early 50s.
If you would like to be involved, please connect with her at emily@ibcfrankfort.com and keep an eye out on our events page.
