Missions

IBC has a long history of being a mission-minded church whose people are always looking for ways to get involved in helping others.  Our missions ministry emphasizes building relationships, helping up more than helping out, and modeling God’s unconditional love to the world.

Our reach has extended from our local neighborhood (Infant Resource Center, local agencies, Study Buddies Tutoring, Relay for Life, Adopt-a-Highway) to Eastern Kentucky (Fleming-Neon, West Point, Extreme Build in McCreary County), other states (Michigan, North Dakota, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland) and other nations (Haiti, Morocco, Zambia, Brazil).

Preschoolers, children and youth at IBC have many opportunities to learn about and participate in “doing” missions.  In recent months, they have collected food and clothing, helped at the soup kitchen and local food pantry, helped build a Habitat house, visited nursing homes and donated money to build a well in Zambia.

Our Missions Ministry Team provides leadership and coordination for a wide range of ministry opportunities for those who want to work locally as well as those who embrace international and cross-cultural experiences.

Additional volunteers are always welcome to participate in upcoming missions ministry projects. For more information, call 502-223-7601 and we will put you in touch with one of the team leaders.
