Tom Hewlett, Chair of the Deacons, announces that Dr. Terry Lester will be serving as our short-term, interim pastor during the month of July. Terry has graciously agreed to help transition our church from the end of Dr. Queen’s tenure until the beginning of Reverend Holladay’s service as our new Senior Pastor on Monday, August 7th, 2023. Her first Sunday in the pulpit will be August 13th.
Dr. Lester is a graduate of Georgetown College, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Lexington Theological Seminary. He has been in ministry over 40 years serving churches in Frankfort, Richmond, and London, Kentucky. Additionally, he has served as Interim Minister at Stanford Christian Church and Faith Baptist among others.
Terry is a former trustee at Georgetown College and Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. He also served as Adjunct Professor of Religion at the University of the Cumberlands. Dr. Lester and his wife Jan, who is also a Georgetown College graduate, live in Frankfort. They have three adult sons and three grandchildren.
